A few weeks ago, anyone claiming Manchester United were about to sign Sergio Ramos would have been laughed out of the building.
However, as speculation continues and rumours suggest the Spain centre-back has asked to leave Real Madrid, some United fans are starting to get very excited.
After all, who would you rather have at centre-back: a Champions League, European Championship and World Cup–winning defender… or Maidstone United's Chris Smalling?
